Hot Fishing (And Weather) in Guatemala

Hola Folks! This is Captain Rob, I’ve been down in Guatemala since January 30. As many of you know, I took a job running a charter boat for the Blue Bayou Lodge on the Pacific Coast of Guatemala for a couple of months this winter. Our group last week released 70 sailfish in 3 days! Might have a few new tricks up our sleeve this year that we learned down here!

Its been an awesome trip, but as we click into spring, I’m definitely looking forward to getting back to Ocracoke and aboard the Free Ranger. I’ll be back in NC next week, and after a quick trip to the boatyard to do some bottom painting, we’ll be in Ocracoke and ready to fish by April 10.

Our mate from last year, Hayden Austin, is going to be back fishing with us this summer, so we are really excited to have him hit the ground running this season. He has been working diligently on tackle and keeping an eye on the boat while I’ve been away.

We have dates available throughout the spring and summer, so as you plan your vacations, don’t forget to give us a call and get on the calendar.
