Fishing Report 8/6 – Ladies Day!

Ladies Day! The rainy windy weather finally gave us a break to get back offshore. What a beautiful day it was!

Had some ladies on board who wanted to try daytime fishing for swordfish. We hooked one on our first drop, but pulled her off unfortunately. We made several more drifts with no bites. They wanted a few fish for dinner, so we stopped on the way home and caught a few dolphin and a wahoo.

Inshore the big drum fishing has been outstanding. Capt. Marcus on Clamdiggerfloundergigger charters and Ernie Doshier on the Drumrunner have had some great evening trips lately.

Fishing Report 7/26

Rain Rain and more Rain! Ugghhh.

Lots of rain and wind over the past week. Unseasonably poor weather, but thats the way it goes!It has kept us at the dock for all of our offshore trips lately, so nothing to report on that front.

The Gecko had half-day trips yesterday and blues with a few spanish were the name of the game.

Fishing Report 7/15

No trip today and the weather was beautiful, slick flat calm ocean. With all of the wind last week we couldn’t let that pass us by so we had a fun fishing crew day today.

We spent most of the day out in the deep day dropping for the elusive swordfish. After 5 hours without a bite our patience was rewarded with a nice little sword. Other than that most boats had a few wahoo bites, scattered dolphin fishing, and a few sailfish. To our

The Gecko and drumstick both had good catches of spanish, blues, and amberjack on half-day trips.

7/10 Fishing Report

We have had a regulation Nor’easter with a big swell from Hurricane Chris the last several days. Because of this we have had to cancel all of our offshore trips. Hopefully we will be able to get back out over the next several days.

The inshore fishing remains steady with spanish and blues in the inlet, and some nice drum showing up in the sound at night.

This has given us a chance to catch up on maintenance and enjoy the beauty that is Ocracoke Island!

Fishing Report 6/30

All of the Ocracoke Charters had great fishing today. Limits of dolphin, a few nice tuna, kings, and sailfish mixed in.

I had a great couple from VA who drove down to visit Ocracoke for the first time. Great day on the water and even better fishing. We had a limit of dolphin by 8am, and then went looking for something bigger. Managed a nice yellowfin, lost another one, and jumped off a sailfish. Slick. Flat. Calm. all day!
